Anybody who has enjoyed a cup of espresso at a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf branch or dined at Burger King or a Food Republic food court has unknowingly experienced the aesthetic and practical advantages of Comfort Design's furniture. With the most diverse selection of chairs and tables used by the biggest brands in the food, beverage and hospitality industries, Comfort Design has secured a place in Singapore's list of distinguished home-grown companies.
As architects, interior designers or homeowners step into Comfort Design's five-level building, they are welcomed by a massive showroom displaying a comprehensive assortment of dining tables, chairs, sofas, bar stools and office furniture. There is a product to suit every individual's preference in colour, size, style and functionality. "Comfort Design can turn the ideas for any type of chair or table into the real thing," says Bob Chew, director.
The family-owned business, which has been dubbed "The Chair and Table People", is not one to sit on its laurels. Recognising the market need for design-oriented furniture 35 years ago, Comfort Design developed its competence in customising chairs and tables for its commercial and residential clients. With its in-house team of experts, the company is a total solutions provider offering tailored services from concept and prototyping to mass fabrication.
"Our products are value for money because we provide excellent service from design to delivery and post-sale maintenance," says Grace Shen, sales and marketing director.
Comfort Design's marketing acuity and commitment to quality are the primary drivers towards product diversification to include lighting fixtures and other accessories. With strong supply ties to China, the company is looking to expand the brand to Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asian markets.
"We envision Comfort Design to be a brand that people trust in China and the rest of Asia," Chew says.
