It’s fun to play games with friends online, but it is also important to spend time with them in person because face-to-face interactions can bring people closer. Below, we’ve listed some traditional Hong Kong games, and check out our graphic to find out what children play around the world.

  1. Black and white: Stand across from a friend. First, clap your hands and high-five your friend with your right hand. Then, clap, and give your friend a left-handed high five. Next, clap again, and with both hands, do two high-fives – once with the back of your hands and another with your palms. Repeat these steps, but increase the number of claps and high-fives each round.

  2. Rubber-band skipping rope: Create a rope by tying rubber bands together. In one version of the game, someone stands in the middle and tries to jump over the rope as it is raised higher and higher.

  3. Hopscotch: This game uses a drawing on the ground with nine squares in the shape of a plane. In one version, players throw an item into one box, before hopping on one leg to pick it up.
