A woman in China has caused much amusement online after her cat clicked the “send” button while she was hesitating over sending a resignation letter to her boss.

The 25-year-old is from southwestern China’s Chongqing municipality and has nine cats.

She had written a resignation letter in her email edit box on January 5 but was not sure if she wanted to send it because she needed money from the job to support her pets.

Then, her home surveillance camera recorded the moment one of her cats jumped onto her desk and pressed the enter button on the laptop, sending the email.

The woman said she immediately contacted her boss to blame the cat but was ignored. She lost both her job and a year-end bonus.

She said she planned to look for a new job after the coming Spring Festival because she needed to feed her cats.

“Listen to your cat master,” one online observer commented.
