About 100 firefighters called to tackle major blaze at block of flats in East London

About 100 firefighters were sent to tackle a major fire at a block of flats in East London on Sunday afternoon.

London Fire Brigade said that 15 fire engines were sent to the scene, where six floors of the De Pass Gardens residential block in Barking had been set alight.

According to the Met Police, residents had been evacuated from nearby homes.

The fire was believed to have started just after 3.30pm local time.

So far no there have been no reports of injuries.
