'That can't be right, that can't be possible': Blood gushes out of elevator as horror accident kills cruise employee

A cruise ship employee has been killed in a gruesome accident that ended with blood pouring out of an elevator, horrifying passengers.

Police in Miami, Florida, confirmed that 66-year-old Jose Sandoval Opazo was killed while working on the elevator on a Carnival Ecstasy cruise Sunday evening when the ship was on the final leg of its three-day voyage and was heading back to Miami. A cruise passenger captured the bloody elevator on video.

“The company extends its heartfelt sympathy to the family and loved ones of our team member. Our CareTeam is providing support,” Carnival said in a statement. “Appropriate authorities have been notified and a full investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.”

The video was recorded by Matt Davis, a Fort Myers, Florida, man, who was headed to dinner with his family. The video shows an elevator door with blood pouring out of it.
