Spain police arrest fugitive murder suspect on Britain’s most-wanted list
Spanish police arrested a British man wanted for murder just days after he appeared on a list of Britain’s most wanted fugitives who are believed to be in Spain.
Spanish police said on Tuesday they have arrested a British man wanted for murder just days after he appeared on a list of Britain’s most wanted fugitives who are believed to be in Spain.
Police arrested Paul Graham Monk, 54, at his home on the outskirts of the eastern Mediterranean coastal town of Javea, police said in a statement.
The authorities suspect him of taking part in the kidnapping and murder of fellow Briton Francis Brennan whose body was found wrapped in plastic on a beach in Orihuela in eastern Spain in March last year.
British police also suspect Monk of trafficking in cocaine and cannabis.
Monk featured in a list published by Britain’s National Crime Agency last month identifying its most wanted fugitives believed to be on the run in Spain which has a huge population of British nationals.
