Bondi Junction stabbing: Chinese student phoned fiancé minutes before being attacked, devastated family on way to Australia

A university student from China who was killed in a deadly knife rampage in Sydney, Australia, was chatting happily on the phone with her fiancé just minutes before she was stabbed.
Economics student, Cheng Yixuan, was enjoying a post-exams outing at the Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre in the east of the city when tragedy struck on Saturday.
Five other people were pronounced dead at the scene of the attack, while Cheng was taken to hospital but succumbed to her injuries. The death toll now stands at six, five women and a man.
The rampage left eight other people injured, including a nine-month-old baby. Some of the wounded are in critical condition.
Cheng, 27, whose death was confirmed on Sunday evening, is from Anhui province in central China and was doing a master’s degree in economics at the University of Sydney.
She had just finished her exams and had gone shopping to treat herself.
