A teenage girl in northern China’s Hebei province who brought her doll to a hairdresser and asked for a beautiful hairstyle for the toy has delighted social media after the doll ended up looking like a rebellious cartoon character.
At first, the hairdresser carefully cut the doll’s hair while constantly checking photos of examples on the girl’s mobile phone, Shaanxi TV reports.
But some time later, the man said he couldn’t create the same look, telling the girl: “Sorry that I can only help you achieve so much.”
“The doll’s hair has a different texture from that of the doll shown on your mobile phone,” he added.

He explained the doll’s hair couldn’t be turned into the intended style as it was soft and curly, and it was easy for the hair to conduct static electricity.
The hairdresser couldn’t help laughing later because when he shook the doll to prove his point, the doll looked like it had been electrocuted.
“I found all hairdressers always have one reason to blame when they failed to make a good hairstyle: your hair quality is problematic,” one person joked on Douyin.
5-year-old girl force-feeds sick uncle
A five-year-old girl in central China’s Henan province has amused social media after pulling her uncle’s hair to try and feed him rice by force.
The girl’s aunt, surnamed Zhang, filmed the scene and said as her husband was unwell, he had little appetite and left most of his meal of rice uneaten, The Paper reported.
When the little girl saw this, she picked up a spoon, pulled her uncle’s hair and fed him with the spoon.

“She said we should not waste food,” Zhang said.
The uncle was seen smiling in the video and being cooperative by opening his mouth each time the girl fed him.
“We get on well with our niece,” Zhang said. “Of course, we weren’t angry, we knew that she wanted him to eat more.”


“How cute the girl is!” One person commented on Douyin.
Another said: “She is so kind. The girl is just showing the most sincere care for her uncle.”
Little kids take over cooking duties for school holidays
A 12-year-old boy and his seven-year-old sister in eastern China’s Zhejiang province have been praised online after cooking for their family every day since the school winter holiday started in mid-January.
A video online showed the siblings in aprons cooking dishes, with the girl standing on a stool to reach the counter, The Paper reported.
“The dishes they made are tasty,” their mother, surnamed Jia, said.

According to their mother, the duo normally cook four to five dishes per meal for their family of six.
“They’ve finally grown up. I am so happy,” Jia said. “On the one hand, they practised their manual skills; on the other hand, I can relax a bit.”
“She is the happiest mother in the world,” one person on Weibo said.
“Can this mother share her secret of training kids to be so exceptional?” Another user commented.
