Truck overturns after colliding with Porsche on Hong Kong’s San Tin Highway
- One occupant of the badly damaged sports car had to be extracted from the vehicle by members of the Fire Services Department
- Four of those involved were sent to nearby hospitals for treatment

Four people were injured after a Porsche collided with a 5½-tonne truck on Hong Kong’s San Tin Highway on Sunday while a rainstorm warning was in effect, overturning the much larger vehicle and causing heavy traffic congestion.
One of the occupants of the badly damaged sports car was trapped following the 10.30am accident in Lok Ma Chau and had to be extracted by members of the Fire Services Department at the scene.
The impact of the collision tore away the car’s windscreen and left the front of the vehicle severely damaged.

The accident happened shortly after the Hong Kong Observatory issued an amber rainstorm warning at 10:05am. The warning was ultimately cancelled shortly after noon.
The two vehicles were driving along San Tin Highway towards Sheung Shui when the sports car was believed to have lost control and crashed into the truck.
The truck then crashed into the central divider and turned over onto its side, while the sports car collided with the metal fence on the side of the road.
