Hongkonger missing in protest-hit Iran safe and ‘in touch’ with authorities
Immigration Department says it has also advised the woman to leave Iran as soon as possible

Hong Kong’s Immigration Department said on Saturday evening that it had advised the woman to leave Iran as soon as possible.
“The department has been in touch with the woman through the Chinese embassy and consulate in the country and confirmed her safety, and also advised her to leave the country as soon as possible,” it said.
The department also said it would continue following up on the matter through the foreign ministry’s arm in Hong Kong, and the Chinese embassy and consulate in Iran, and would provide feasible help according to the family’s wishes.

The statement confirmed a social media post earlier on Saturday by a user who called the blogger, known as “Bing”, her younger sister. The post said the woman was safe and with friends.
