Hong Kong coach driver arrested after mainland Chinese cycling vlogger killed in crash

Pan Haili was hit by coach on Lantau, with clip of her and other cyclists uploaded to her Douyin account earlier in morning

Hong Kong police have arrested a coach driver after his bus fatally hit a mainland Chinese tourist who was cycling with her friends on the outlying island of Lantau.

According to police, the coach struck the victim at about 3pm on Sunday near the Shing Fai Orchard bus stop on Keung Shan Road in South Lantau.

“A woman, aged 31, was hit by a tour coach while cycling along Keung Shan Road. She was certified dead at the scene,” a spokeswoman said.

The victim is understood to be Pan Haili, a mainland Chinese cycling vlogger with an online following of about 13,000 people on her Douyin account.

The last video clip uploaded to the account was on Sunday morning. It showed Pan and a group of cyclists gathered near Disneyland on Lantau Island.
