Hong Kong driver and 2 passengers die after car slams into road barrier, tearing apart vehicle

A 25-year-old Hong Kong driver and his two passengers died on Thursday morning after their car slammed into a road barrier, tearing apart the vehicle.
Police said they received reports at 3.23am from drivers who passed the heavily damaged vehicle on Tuen Mun Road.
“When the car reached Siu Lam, opposite the married quarters of the Correctional Services Department, it was suspected to have lost control before hitting the road barrier,” the spokesman said.
Police said the driver, surnamed Tang, was found trapped inside the vehicle and had sustained serious head injuries. Officers rescued him but he was certified dead at the scene.
The passengers, a 26-year-old man surnamed Chan and a 23-year-old woman surnamed Ng, suffered multiple injuries and were taken unconscious to hospital before dying at 4.06am and 9.19am, respectively.
Police said the New Territories North special traffic investigation team was looking into the fatal crash.
