A roller coaster at Hong Kong Disneyland made an emergency stop mid-ride leaving 12 passengers stranded at one stage, police said on Wednesday.
The force said it received a report at 3.21pm that an indoor attraction named Hyperspace Mountain had made an emergency stop. Two men, four women, two boys and four girls were stuck but no injuries were reported, it said.
Two carriages were involved. A government spokesman said a rescue mission by firefighters was completed at 4.14pm with all passengers brought to safety.
A girl named Coco said she was among the trapped passengers.
“I was on the train just now and it was dark inside,” she told the media. “The train stopped and the lights were turned on. We were sitting … It was not very steep. Some children were crying.”
She said staff asked them to wait for help through a broadcast system.
