Police said the 49-year-old driver, identified only by the surname Wong, escaped without serious injury, but he was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital after complaining of dizziness.

At least eight men were seen in a video posted on Facebook surrounding the truck, with some next to the cabin and others trying to smash open its windscreen to rescue the driver.

Wong was seen after about three minutes to emerge from the cabin and get to a nearby roadside barrier, with help from pedestrians.

Police said that Wong was driving his vehicle along Castle Peak Road at Hung Shui Kiu when he started to feel dizzy.

His truck veered into railings on the road divider and flipped onto its side.
