Three women were hurt after one of them lost balance and they fell backwards on an escalator at a Hong Kong railway station on Wednesday afternoon.
The MTR Corporation said an escalator connecting the concourse to exit B at Wong Tai Sin MTR station shut down at about noon and restarted at 1.50pm.
“A passenger fell down an escalator after she was believed to have lost her balance, causing two fellow passengers to fall at the same time,” a spokesman said, citing CCTV footage of the incident.
“One of the travellers was being supported by another commuter using the escalator, while a third woman had boarded with a folded wheelchair.”
He said: “One commuter was injured, but all three said they did not need to be sent to the hospital and left the station on their own.”
Footage circulated online showed two of the women had been flipped almost upside down following the collision.
