At least 19 people were injured in a collision between two light rail trains in Tin Shui Wai on Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the two trains crashed at the Hang Mei Tsuen light rail stop in Ping Ha Road shortly before 4.30pm.

“Initial information showed 19 people were injured,” a police spokeswoman said.

The light rail service was disrupted due to the accident, according to the Transport Department.

“Train services on Route 751 and Route 761P in both directions are diverted and will not stop at Hang Mei Tsuen stop,” the department said at 4.31pm.
