Woman’s body found wrapped in mattress in Hong Kong street
Police hunt boyfriend previously arrested for allegedly assaulting the Indonesian woman

Police are hunting the boyfriend of an Indonesian woman whose body was found in a folded mattress on a street in Mong Kok yesterday.
The 37-year-old victim - Astutik Supardi Wiji - had sought asylum after arriving in Hong Kong in 2007, police said. A man on his way to work found the body on a pavement in Changsha Street near the junction with Shanghai Street at about 10.45am.
"The shop assistant arrived for work and found the folded mattress outside his shop. When he kicked it, a human arm stretched out from the mattress. He was startled," said Or Man, the owner of a watch repair stall nearby.
Or said the terrified employee ran into his stall and asked him to call police. He said the mattress had been dumped there since Sunday.
"No fatal wound was found in the initial forensic examination, but there were bruises on her arms and legs," said acting Chief Inspector Lo Chung-wong of the Kowloon West regional crime unit. "The cause of death has not been established. An autopsy and toxicological examinations will be carried out."
Lo said the initial examination by forensic pathologists indicated the woman had been dead for a day.
