Hong Kong McDonald’s worker, 16, arrested over bullying, spitting on woman
Video shows boy shouting, repeatedly spitting on female colleague, 19, at North Point branch

Hong Kong police have arrested a 16-year-old McDonald’s employee who allegedly bullied and spat on a female colleague at a North Point branch.
A 22-second silent video that went viral earlier in the week shows the 19-year-old woman dressed in a yellow uniform standing in a corner, with the boy appearing to be shouting and repeatedly spitting on her, including once right onto her hair.
Other employees were present but did not intervene. The video is believed to have been filmed last December in the staff break room of the McDonald’s branch at Fortress Metro Tower.
A source said the boy was arrested on Tuesday over common assault.
McDonald’s, meanwhile, said the case had been handed over to police, adding the employee involved had been suspended pending investigation.
It also said that it would continue to provide support and help to the affected worker and her family.
