4 arrested over attempted robbery at knife point in popular Hong Kong tourist area
Assailants allegedly attempted to steal luggage, which contained about HK$42 million, leaving victim with forehead wound
Four men have been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery in a popular tourist area in Hong Kong.
Police said on Friday that two of the men, armed with a long knife, had attempted to steal luggage containing about €5 million (US$5.4 million) from a 27-year-old Turkish man.
The victim suffered a 10cm (3.9 inch) knife wound to his forehead and leg injuries during the struggle outside the Golden Crown Court building on Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui on Thursday.
The attackers fled empty-handed.
Police apprehended the four suspects, aged 17 to 31, in Jordan and Mong Kok.
Superintendent Gar Kam-lam reported that two of the arrested men held Hong Kong identity cards, while the other two had recognisance forms.
