Former Hong Kong dim sum chef convicted of raping underage daughter
- High Court told man, now 60, subjected daughter to series of assaults beginning when she was 10
A former dim sum chef has been remanded in custody for sentencing in Hong Kong after he was convicted of a series of rapes and sex assaults on his underage daughter committed more than a decade ago.
A High Court jury of seven men on Wednesday found the 60-year-old man guilty of 10 charges after less than three hours of deliberation.
The man, identified in court only by the initials KKW, was convicted of two charges of rape, three counts each of indecent assault and committing a grossly indecent act on a child under 16, and one offence each of incest and attempted incest.
A trial earlier this month heard the defendant first tried to have sex with his then 10-year-old daughter at their home in Aberdeen in 2010.
The victim, now 23, said at the time she had no idea what her father was doing when he stripped her on a bed and assaulted her.
She added she was attacked on three other occasions that year, including being raped by the defendant at their home.
