Hong Kong van driver arrested in connection with hit-and-run smash that left 6 minibus passengers injured

Hong Kong police have arrested a 56-year-old driver in connection with a hit-and-run case, after a crash involving a van and a minibus left six passengers injured in the Pat Heung area of Yuen Long.

The man, surnamed Lam, was arrested for alleged dangerous driving, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a traffic accident and failing to report an accident.

Lam was suspected to have lost control of the van which then collided with a green minibus at around 4pm on Kam Sheung Road near the Seasons Palace housing complex, and allegedly fled the scene.

Five men and a woman, aged between 44 and 68, suffered minor injuries to their heads, hands, and feet and were sent to Pok Oi Hospital in Yuen Long for treatment. The minibus driver was not hurt.
