Police received a report around 1.29am on Sunday that a 63-year-old man, surnamed Pang, had been attacked in Sheung Shui by three men wielding knives and “hard objects”, a source familiar with the case said.

The suspects then jumped into a private vehicle and fled the scene.

After regaining his composure, the victim made his own way to North District Hospital in Sheung Shui for treatment, the source added.

Authorities said Pang was in a stable condition in hospital as of 11.55am.

Police said a preliminary investigation found that the victim did not know the three suspects and the cause of the attack was not yet known.
