Hong Kong national security police question parents, 2 elder sisters of fugitive opposition figure Simon Cheng
- Source says officers raided home of former British consulate worker’s parents and sisters, with all four questioned over ties to their family member
- Last month, police placed HK$1 million bounties on Cheng and four other opposition fugitives accused of violating national security law

A source familiar with the case said officers raided the Tuen Mun home of the former British consulate worker’s parents and sisters in the morning, before taking all four to police stations to help with the investigation.
“They were questioned by officers about whether they had contacted Cheng or offered him financial support,” the insider said.
“The National Security Department attaches great importance to the case and believes that investigations into the contacts or agents of the remaining wanted fugitives in Hong Kong will continue with a thorough probe of the responsibilities of relevant individuals.”

Cheng’s father was seen leaving Castle Peak Police Station in Tuen Mun before 1pm.
Another source said the three others had also been released, adding that “they were only interviewed” and no arrests were made.
