Stepson hunted by Hong Kong police after electric saw and knife attack leaves 54-year-old woman dead
- Man, aged in his 40s, flees city after woman attacked near her village house in Man Yuen Tsuen on Saturday night
- Police say woman suffered ‘multiple cut wounds to the neck and wrists and multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest’
A source said the stepson, aged in his 40s, who has fled the city, was being sought after the brutal killing of Lau Hung-lee, 54, on Kam Pok Road in Yuen Long in the New Territories on Saturday night.
Acting superintendent Tai Yuk-lun of the Yuen Long district crime squad said the victim had suffered “multiple cut wounds to the neck and wrists and multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest”.
He confirmed the suspect had left Hong Kong. Tai did not reveal the relationship between the two, but said the killer and victim knew each other and that “it was not a random attack”.
He added investigations suggested a grudge had sparked the killing.
Police recovered a 45cm-long (17.7-inch) electric saw and a 30cm-long knife, both bloodstained, as well as sun protection sleeves with blood on them in a grassy area about 30 metres from the crime scene.
