4 remanded in custody in connection with suspected murder of Hong Kong woman in New Territories

A jobless man accused of killing his girlfriend in a New Territories village in Hong Kong has been remanded in custody alongside three others who allegedly aided him in disposing of the quilt-wrapped body.
Sporting a blue mask and football jersey, Ng Ka-sing appeared before Tuen Mun Court on Monday morning to face a count of murder.
When asked by a court officer whether he was aware of the allegation laid against him, the 25-year-old nodded and said: “Yes, I understand.”
Ng’s three flatmates also appeared before the court, with each being charged with a count of preventing the lawful burial of a body. The trio consisted of warehouse worker Chan Wing-hong, 27; delivery worker Tsoi Chi-long, 31; and Tsoi’s wife, jobless Cheng Pui-man, 28.
The prosecution alleged Ng had killed his partner, Yip Tsz-ching, at a 700 sq ft residence in Galore Garden on Tin Ha Road in Tin Shui Wai between last Thursday and Friday, while his three flatmates were suspected of helping to dispose of the body.
A passer-by spotted Ng on Friday morning dragging a wheel board loaded with Yip’s body 500 metres away from the village house and reported the case to police.
The prosecution asked for an eight-week adjournment to allow officers more time to investigate, adding that Chan could face further charges for his role in the incident.
