A 66-year-old man was in police custody on Wednesday after being arrested on suspicion of killing his wife with a hard object in a Hong Kong public housing flat.
Police were called to the Long Ping Estate on Ping Yee Road in Yuen Long shortly after 7pm on Tuesday after a friend found the suspect’s wife, aged 67, suffering from head injuries inside the couple’s home.
According to the force, the friend had gone to see the couple after receiving a call from the suspect, who had allegedly acknowledged assaulting his wife at home.

He said the woman was unconscious as she was being taken to hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Her husband was arrested when he returned to the scene at about 11pm, according to the source.
