“Under the influence of a maritime airstream, the weather will be humid and foggy over the coastal areas of Guangdong in the next few days,” the weather forecaster on Sunday said. “It will be rather warm during the day.”

Starting from Monday, the relative humidity is expected to range from 70 per cent to 100 per cent. A reading of 85 per cent or over is defined as “humid” by the Observatory.

Temperatures are forecast to peak at about 26 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be sunny periods throughout the week, but the weather will mostly be foggy, with possible rain patches.

Humidity levels are expected to reach as high as 100 per cent on Friday, with the mercury dropping to 21 degrees, before gradually declining further in the following week, with a minimum of 14 degrees expected on February 27.

“The northeast monsoon will reach the coast of southern China in the latter part of this week and early next week,” the forecaster said. “Temperatures will fall progressively over the region.”
