Residents can expect cloudy, cold weather with one or two rain patches on Saturday night and Sunday morning. By Sunday afternoon, there will be sunny intervals with a maximum temperature of around 17 degrees.
The government urged residents to ensure the elderly kept warm amid the cold spell.
A Centre of Health Protection spokesman warned that the chilly weather could easily trigger or worsen diseases among the elderly and people with chronic illnesses. He said they wear warm clothing, eat sufficient food and stay in warm indoor areas.
