Rare fox found by Hong Kong hikers sent to Ocean Park for care and quarantine
Park specialists will check animal, which was found in Lantau water diversion channel, for rabies and other potential infectious diseases

The park said in a statement on Saturday that it received the fox from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) on Wednesday morning and it had since been closely monitoring the animal’s condition.
“It is being quarantined for rabies and other potential infectious diseases with the quarantine period lasting for at least six months,” a park spokeswoman said.
“It is expected that the quarantine period will last at least six months. Genetic testing will also be arranged for the animal to identify its species.”
A spokeswoman for the SPCA said it transferred the animal to Ocean Park as the wild life specialists there could provide care for it.
