A Beijing graft-buster has urged greater cross-border cooperation in fighting corruption.

A Beijing graft-buster has urged greater cross-border cooperation in fighting corruption.
The call from Huang Shuxian, a deputy chief of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, was made at a meeting in the capital on Monday with Independent Commission Against Corruption commissioner Simon Peh Yun-lu.
"The strengthening of exchanges and cooperation in the anti-graft area would be in line with the common interests of the two sides," Huang said.
He said cooperation in tracking down fugitives and the proceeds of their crimes should be stepped up due to closer economic ties and people-to-people contacts from both sides.
Peh is on a five-day visit to Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen with Daniel So Ping-hung, head of the ICAC's Centre for Anti-corruption Studies.
He said he had noted the anti-graft measures on the mainland, which were "unprecedented" in the determination and strength displayed.
