Chinese restaurant collapse leaves at least 17 dead

At least 17 people have died after a restaurant building collapsed in northern China on Saturday morning, state media reported.

A social media post by Xinhua said seven people had also suffered serious injuries and another 21 had minor injuries.

It remained unclear how many remained buried under the rubble.

The accident happened in Xiangfen county in Shanxi province, about 630 kilometres (400 miles) southwest of Beijing.
