How do you fit a yak in a van? Chinese yak-nappers show the way
Men managed to cram two of the beasts into their getaway vehicle by removing all the rear seats
Two large yaks were found in the back of a van by police in southwestern China after three men suspected of stealing the animals abandoned the vehicle, Chinese media reported.
Police in Daofu, an ethnic Tibetan region in Sichuan province, came across the unusual scene in the early hours of Tuesday, according to Huaxi Metropolis Daily.
All the rear seats had been pulled out and the two large animals crammed inside. When police first noticed the van, the driver sped up but suddenly stopped and three people got out and fled, the report said.
The yaks were rescued and temporarily kept at police offices. It was not immediately clear whether the suspects found the yaks in the wild or stole them.
