Oops! - Chinese woman tries to swat fly while driving and wrecks her car

A woman who tried to swat a fly while driving a Cadillac crashed into another car in eastern China and caused an estimated 300,000 yuan (HK$365,000) worth of damage to the two vehicles, according to a newspaper report.

The woman was parking on a street in Taixing in Jiangsu province on Wednesday night when the accident happened, the Modern Express reported.

Police said the woman tried to swat a fly that had landed on her left hand while her foot was still on the accelerator.

She without thinking pushed her foot down hard on the gas pedal as she tried to hit the fly and her car smashed in a Range Rover, the report said.

The driver, who was identified only by her surname Zhang, suffered serious cuts to her head.
