With a huge migrant population that work far away from their family workers use the week-long holidays as an opportunity to travel home. Over 100 million people hit the roads, rails and airports in these holidays often resulting in transport chaos. 

China's tourist destinations experienced booming business during the week-long National Day holiday while more tourist arrivals and spending were reported. 

The peak time of “golden week” return trips began on Tuesday, when about 11 million train journeys were made, the mainland’s railway operator China Railway said.
