At least 10 people killed in accident at Chinese coal mine

Ten people have been killed in an accident in a coal mine in China’s southwestern province of Guizhou, the Xinhua news agency reported on Wednesday.
It is the latest incident that points to the poor safety record of the world’s biggest coal producer.
Xinhua said the “coal and gas outburst” occurred on Tuesday night. Rescue work is still going on.
The total number of casualties would require further verification, it said.

Four miners died and six others were rescued in July after a mine flooded in Hegang, in China's Heilongjiang province.
