Pregnant Chinese woman dies after getting head stuck in railings as bystanders made desperate rescue attempts

A pregnant woman died on a street in north China after fainting and becoming trapped in some railings.

Shocked bystanders rushed to rescue the victim after she got her head stuck in the fence in the city of Xian.

A video shared on social media showed several people desperately trying to free the woman, who was more than seven months pregnant with twins, by attempting to break the railings, Beijing News reported.

But despite their efforts they could not prise apart the metal to release her neck.

When paramedics eventually arrived at the scene on the afternoon of March 28, the woman had already died, local media reported.
