Commuters in a southern Chinese city have continued to use a bus stop despite it being covered by rubble from a nearby demolition site.
In a series of dramatic photos published online, the partially destroyed building can be seen looming over the bus shelter in Foshan, Guangdong province, which itself is covered in rubble, scaffolding, and other debris.

According to the Southern Metropolis Daily, the bus stop is located in the city’s Changcheng district. No signs have been put up to warn bus passengers of the potential danger.
“Our superiors just told us to demolish [the building],” a construction worker said. “We’re just following instructions.”
Asked if he thought there was any danger to passengers, the worker shook his head. “It should be all right.”

The local government could not be reached for comment.
Foshan commuters should take a page out of Xiaozuo’s book. Residents in the small village in Henan province have taken to moving bus stops themselves to make them more accessible, going as far as to pour concrete to secure the signs in their new places.
“It’s really difficult to keep villagers from moving the bus stop,” one driver told the The Wall Street Journal. “We can’t watch them day and night. If they want to move the bus stop, we have no way to stop them.”
According to the Journal, residents in Shandong and Anhui provinces have also taken to modifying their bus routes, causing confusion for drivers and pitting neighbours against each other as they attempt to get a stop right outside their doors.
