The announcement that BTS will return to Malaysia after more than a decade has sent K-pop fans into a frenzy, with many calling it a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
The South Korean supergroup will stage two concerts in Kuala Lumpur on December 12 and 13, marking its first appearance in the country since 2015, when it performed its Red Bullet Tour at Mega Star Arena.
This will also be BTS’ first-ever concert in Kuala Lumpur as its previous Malaysia performance was held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
For diehard fan Lily Lim, the news was overwhelming.
“I’ve been longing for BTS to come to Kuala Lumpur for five whole years. It’s been 11 years since they last set foot in Malaysia, and they’ve never even performed in Kuala Lumpur before. I’m ecstatic that they’re finally coming to our beautiful city,” she said.
Lim said just one show in Malaysia would not be enough.
“I’m targeting three locations. I’ll try my best to get at least one ticket for Bangkok or Singapore, and one in Malaysia. Seeing them just once will never be enough,” she said.
She hopes to secure VIP tickets in Kuala Lumpur and is already preparing an elaborate strategy to beat the queues, including mobilising friends and family across multiple countries to help secure tickets online.
“Last time, I had more than 70 devices queuing for me, and I still barely got tickets. This time, I’m teaming up with other Armys so we can help each other make our dreams come true,” she said, referring to the band’s fandom.


Like many fans, Lim is worried about scalpers.
“Scalpers make it so much harder for real fans. It’s unfair that people profit off fans’ desperation. Ticketing platforms should tighten their policies and take action against resellers,” she said.
While she has never seen BTS perform as a group, Lim attended solo concerts by members J-Hope and Suga in Singa­pore.
“Those nights were the happiest moments of my life. I can only imagine how magical this reunion concert will be. I know I’ll cry the moment BTS walks on stage and the Army bombs light up the stadium,” she said.
Fans all over social media echoed similar sentiments.
“I really hope I can get a ticket – even if I have to sit by the stairs, I don’t mind. This is truly a wish list moment,” one user said.
“I’m almost a senior citizen already – please give me a ticket first! I’m willing to admit I’m a senior citizen just to get a ticket!” another user said.

As anticipation builds, Malaysian Armys are counting down the days, hopeful that this long-awaited homecoming will finally become a reality.
The concert is part of BTS’ highly anticipated world tour following a three-year hiatus from group activities as all seven members completed their mandatory military service.
The tour, spanning 79 shows across Asia, the United States and Europe, will kick off in Goyang, South Korea, on April 9 and is expected to run until 2027, with additional stops planned for Japan and the Middle East.
