For those who have always dreamed of being able to go into space, the news that an orbiting hotel is expected to open in 2027 brings this fantasy a step closer to reality.
The Gateway Foundation, based in California, has recently announced a plan to open the first hotel in space, named Voyager Station.

The Earth-orbiting hotel is set to be built by Orbital Assembly Corporation, which calls itself “the world’s first large-scale space construction company”, beginning in 2026.
The company said that the ring-shaped hotel is expected to accommodate up to 440 people, and will have gravity equivalent to one-sixth of the Earth’s.

According to a Booking.com survey of around 22,000 travellers around the world, 41 per cent expressed excitement about the prospect of space travel.
To mark this exciting milestone in space travel, the global online travel agency has picked five “out-of-this-world” stays that allow travellers to feel a hint of “outer space” without ever leaving the Earth’s surface.
