Why Amanoi Resort in Vietnam is a favourite spot for wellness enthusiasts
Among other things, the Aman Spa and some of the most perfect settings for yoga sessions
In the November 2018 Global Wellness Tourism Economy report by the Global Wellness Institute, Vietnam was listed among the top 10 wellness tourism markets in Asia-Pacific in 2017, with expenditure totalling over US$4 billion. While places like Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Hoi An are popular destinations in Vietnam, Ninh Thuan province could become the next retreat favourite. This part of the country has the driest climate and is home to a pristine national park.
Amanoi – part of the luxury Aman group – is a resort on the hills of the Nui Chua National Park and is a short drive away from Vinh Hy Bay, part of a marine reserve with unique rock formations. This is in line with the growing wellness sophistication trend among Asian travellers, as noted in the report. The resort is a 70-minute drive from Cam Ranh International Airport that serves the city of Nha Trang. It only takes two hours to fly from Hong Kong to Nha Trang.
The Aman Spa (which underwent renovations last year) surrounds the property’s lotus-filled lake. A pavilion on the water provides the perfect spot for yoga sessions, and the nearby spa houses have five double treatment suites. The establishment is popular for its wellness programmes.
