When it comes to the world’s largest outdoor TV, the C Seed 301, there’s only one question: which film shall we watch?
When your TV set-up is the equivalent of a small cinema, the only question is which film you’re going to watch or which Premier League match deserves prime viewing space
WHAT: C Seed 301, the World’s Largest Outdoor TV
HOW MUCH: US$1.5 million
WHY: Summer time takes its shape in luxurious yacht parties or champagne rooftop soirées. But to offer an experience like this might just bear the tropical palm: hosting guests with the world’s largest outdoor television, in your own backyard.
At a simple push of a remote control button, the C Seed 301 television will rise from its underground compartment, reaching its full height of 19 feet in a respectable 25 seconds. In another 40 seconds, the seven LED panels will silently and seamlessly interlock, offering 301 inches diagonally of HDR picture-refined imaging with a 4K resolution. That is 25 feet of television real estate.
For stats junkies, the 301 offers nothing less than technical superiority. Boasting 4,500 nits of luminosity and 48-bit colour depth, the image quality is perfect even in direct sunlight. To put its luminescence into perspective, many HDR-compatible televisions typically output 400 to 2,000 nits.
The television, whose 201-inch predecessor was designed by Porsche Design Studio, comes with six broadband speakers and three subwoofers with a total output of 2,700 watts.
Surprisingly, all of this technology weighs only 1,650kg, thanks to the lightweight carbon fibre frame and column.
