The Traina sisters: meet Danielle Steel’s socialite daughters Vanessa, Victoria and Samantha, who rep for Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Tom Ford, and are compared to Nicky and Paris Hilton for a reason
- Nepo baby alert? Vanessa Traina was named a Chanel beauty ambassador in 2009 and featured in a Louis Vuitton campaign, and is friends with Alexander Wang, Nicole Richie and Kirsten Dunst
- Once compared to Paris and Nicky Hilton, Vanessa and Victoria have been hailed as everything from designer muses to fashion influencers, while older sister Samantha works with Tom Ford and Tory Burch
Romance novelist Danielle Steel’s three daughters are so close – in age and choice of profession as well as metaphorically – that they’ve been dubbed the “Traina trinity” by US media.
The author wrote on her website that her favourite thing has been seeing the love her children share. “It is a bond like no other, sometimes even stronger than their bond to me, and I am grateful for that,” she wrote back when they were still in school.
Now Vanessa, Victoria and Samantha are all grown up, and while not one of them has followed their powerhouse mother into writing, all three have become highly influential in the fashion world. Here’s what you need to know about them.
Meet the “Traina trinity” – the three daughters of author Danielle Steel
The Traina sisters’ mum Danielle Steel is the world’s bestselling living author – according to her publisher Pan MacMillan, anyway – and it’s easy to see why. The 76-year-old has penned more than 200 books and sold a billion – yes a billion – copies. Best known for her romantic fiction, she claims she did all her writing while her children slept, sometimes churning out pages until dawn, per The Age.
“The Traina trio” have six other siblings
Steel has been married five times – including to a convicted criminal who she met, and married, in his prison’s canteen – but had almost all of her children with one man: John Traina.
