Prince Christian of Denmark’s lavish 18th birthday bash! Queen Margrethe’s grandson celebrated his special day with a royal gala and guests like Princesses Elisabeth, Estelle and Ingrid Alexandra

Turning 18 is widely considered a big deal for every teenager as it opens up many doors to adulthood. For Prince Christian of Denmark’s big day, however, it’ll mean gearing up towards running a nation.
The youngster just celebrated his 18th birthday yesterday at the Amalienborg Castle in Copenhagen, where crowds gathered to express their joy towards the Danish future king. He wore a grey checked suit and blue tie as he waved to fans from the palace balcony, where he was joined by his father Crown Prince Frederik, grandmother Queen Margrethe, mother Crown Princess Mary and siblings Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
So, how does a future monarch celebrate an 18th birthday? As shared by the Danish Royal House’s official Instagram page, the schedule was as follows:
“At 12.00 the birthday boy will appear on the balcony of Frederik VIII’s palace in Amalienborg together with the crown prince family and Her Majesty the queen. Everyone is welcome to attend the castle square and take part in the celebration.”
This was followed by, “At 17.00 the queen [will be] at a gala table at Christiansborg Castle, where young people from Prince Christian’s own generation are [especially] invited.”
