- A Korean encyclopaedia describes Momo’s hidden talent as ‘body-waving using only her abdomen’
Momo, the “dance machine” from K-pop girl band TWICE, stole the hearts of fans worldwide for her wonderful body movements and waving, and for her physical fitness that sets a benchmark for anyone wishing to emulate her.
An online clip has resurfaced showing the 23-year-old JYP Entertainment star sharing her workout tips dedicated to strengthening the abdomen. Part of SBS MTV's K-pop entertainment programme, The Show, that delves into stars’ lives, the segment unearthed pointers for viewers who are not sure whether to admire the Japanese star.
The Kyoto-born dancer’s muscle-jerk routine, according to the 2017 clip, consists of twist-planks and sit-ups, which she shows. She told Chaeyoung, another TWICE gem who accompanied the TV act, that she performed 50 planks three times a day.

Videos and pictures of Momo, showing her ripped abdomen, are circulating on online blogs. A Korean encyclopaedia detailing her career introduces her hidden talent as “body-waving using only her abdomen”.
In the clip, Momo also pumps iron as a chest toner. Ripped shoulders are apparent when she wears her navy-blue shoulderless top.
“Are you ready to become my fan?” the star asks, smiling while struggling with the apparatus.
Born Hirai Momo, the celebrity became famous in 2015 with the band formed by winners from the Mnet TV audition programme Sixteen.
The band’s latest release, “#TWICE2”, a second collection of best hits, goes on sale in Japan this week.
The group will appear on Japan's top TV music programme, Music Station on TV Asahi for the ninth time on Friday.
