While it’s common for many young royals to travel widely, spread their wings and study abroad, most eventually respond to their patriotic calling and return home to their respective kingdoms. Cambodia’s Norodom Reasmey Khemuni found a second home on the other side of the world. This 22-year-old royal, who also goes by the name Muni, is taking cues from his uncle King Norodom Sihamoni and making a mark in the arts – and on the stage.

So who is this young prince who is pursuing his performance dreams in Los Angeles, California?

The king gave his title

Born in 1997, Muni is the youngest child of Princess Norodom Arunrasmy, the king's half-sister, and Keo Puth Rasmey, a Cambodian politician of Chinese descent. It was King Norodom Sihamoni himself who elevated the young prince’s title to His Highness.

 
 

He studied in different countries

 

Muni spent his childhood in his home country. Upon graduating from the International School of Phnom Penh, he travelled to Malaysia and Germany to study in their capital cities. It did not take long before he caught the acting bug and decided to move to the United States. In 2017, Muni graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
