Yes, there are villas and mansions, and then there’s Antilia in Mumbai, India. The 27-floor skyscraper, home to business magnate Mukesh Ambani and his family, is worth a whopping US$2 billion, making it the second most expensive property worldwide after Buckingham Palace. With an ice-cream parlour, cinema accommodating 80 guests, glam ballroom and yoga centre, the Ambanis know how to enjoy and pamper themselves. The towering mansion also boasts three helipads, six floors of garages for 168 vehicles and a private temple; they even hired 600 staff to help maintain the building.

Meet the Nguyen clan, one of Vietnam’s wealthiest families

A few months ago, Tien Nguyen, Vietnam’s richest heiress, made headlines when she flew back to Ho Chi Minh City from London. The 24-year old socialite contracted Covid-19 in the UK and her father, Jonathan Hanh Nguyen, chairman of Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPPG), arranged a private charter plane to bring her back home to receive treatment. Her father runs a diversified business empire in Vietnam, distributing luxury fashion brands such as Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and Burberry in high-end shopping malls and duty-free stores and food franchises such as Burger King and Domino’s Pizza. Aside from Tien’s father, her mother and siblings also have prosperous careers.
