Known to millions as Lee Tae-oh in The World of the Married – South Korea’s highest-rated cable drama series ever – Park Hae-joon is joining an all-star cast in disaster movie Emergency Declaration

Park Sang-woo – widely known by his stage name Park Hae-joon – is one of South Korea’s best-loved actors thanks to his amazing performance in The World of the Married . Turning 44 (or 45 in Korean ages) on June 14, he continues to bring characters vividly to life and deliver versatility and intensity in any role he takes.

Here are five things you should know about the Busan-born lead actor of Korea’s highest rated cable TV drama ever, as he turns a year older.

He came from a theatrical background

Park graduated from the Department of Theatre Studies at Korea National University of Arts’ School of Drama in Seoul. He then started his career working in theatre production and playwriting.

His career breakthrough was in 2014

He debuted in front of the camera in 2012 with a minor role as a loan shark in the film Helpless, and in the KBS television drama Jeon Woo-chi as Dae-geun. However, he drew greater attention in 2014 as a supporting actor in TVN’s Misaeng: Incomplete Life, where he took on the role of Chun Kwan-woong. This brought him widespread recognition, helping him land subsequent roles in Doctor Stranger and Fourth Place.
