Royal weddings give brides the chance to flaunt their power, wealth and privilege with the most stunning tiaras imaginable

Many women dream of wearing a tiara on their wedding day. For royals, it’s an important part of their heritage and a way to flaunt their power and wealth. Here, we take a look at some of the most celebrated weddings in the world and which tiaras the brides wore on their big day.

Though Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, are no longer considered “senior” working royals after stepping down from their royal roles on March 31, they will retain their titles as the Duchess and Duke of Sussex and they will remain members of the British royal family.

Markle has rarely been seen wearing any of the royal jewels. Her wedding day in 2018 – when she wore the 1932 Queen Mary diamond tiara that was on loan from Queen Elizabeth – was the only time we’ve seen her in royal jewellery.

Kate Middleton

Middleton married Prince William in a Cartier Halo Tiara in 2011. King George VI presented the tiara to Queen Elizabeth on her 18th birthday in 1944, and the diamond tiara has remained part of the queen’s jewel collection of jewels ever since.

Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie brought colour to her bridal look with a cabochon emerald tiara. The Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara is set with diamonds and 93.7 carats of emeralds. The queen lent Eugenie the tiara for her special day in October 2018.
