  • Largest private island in the Maldives at nearly 32,000 square metres offers room for a maximum of 24 guests
  • Choose from two villas – a two-bedroom overwater villa and a three-bedroom beach villa – or a four-bedroom house

If you’re intending to travel again any time soon, or indeed at all, you’re probably going to want to go to a place where you can minimise your contact with other people as much as possible.

Fortunately, that kind of isolation often tends to coincide with considerable luxury, as in the case of the latest addition to the line-up of ultra-high-end accommodation available in the Maldives: Ithaafushi – The Private Island, part of Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi resort.

The largest private isle in the Maldives at nearly 32,000 square metres, Ithaafushi, which means “Pearl Island” in the local Dhivehi language, houses up to 24 people in two villas – a two-bedroom overwater villa and a three-bedroom beach villa – and one four-bedroom house.

There’s also a common living room known as Haali, with the option of dining there or in the residences – or at one of 10 restaurants in the main resort nearby.
