He shares a high-end hairdresser with Paris Hilton and pays at least 10 people to maintain Mar-a-Lago’s grounds – so how much does it really cost to live like a Trump?

With multiple multimillion dollar homes and glitzy private aircraft, it’s no secret that Donald Trump has a penchant for the finer things in life (even if that’s not always reflected in his fast-food-friendly dining choices).

But all things considered, some of the US president’s expenses are enough to make even the eyes of the world’s wealthiest men water. Here’s what it costs to enjoy just a few of the 74-year-old millionaire’s luxuries …

Trump’s tax filings revealed that over the course of several years filming The Apprentice, his hair styling cost US$70,000. It’s not known what exactly he was having done to his famously blond and wispy tresses – and even more unclear if the personal expense should have been tax deductible in the first place, since NBC claims that they took care of his coiffed do for the television show.

A network hairstylist also pointed out that Trump often arrived to hair and make-up with his strands already neatly combed in to place. According to an investigation by The New York Times, Trump’s Manhattan hairstylist Sharon Sinclair – shared by the likes of Paris Hilton, Tina Fey and Steve Martin – was paid at least US$13,300 in 2004, US$36,400 in 2005 and US$20,043 in 2006, which works out to be around US$1,000 per show.
